It looks clever, interesting and, typical for Remedy, different to everything else out there.

We saw the original announcement in May 2019, now we're seeing even more of the new game thanks to E3 2019. The latest trailer shows Jon Bernthal introducing the premise - he stars in the game and that itself might be enough to make it exciting.

Remade from the ground up, this original PlayStation game is a much-loved classic from yesteryear that deserves being resurrected.

Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order

squirrel_widget_148921

Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order is looking fantastic. From what we know about this game, it's going to be a fantastic single-player focussed Star Wars romp made by Respawn Entertainment that even has devs from KOTOR 2 working on it.

Stuffed full of epic lightsaber battles, this new game is also interesting thanks to the promise of an "innovative lightsaber combat system" and a gameplay system that will see your lightsaber evolving as the game progresses. We're not sure exactly what that means but it should be fantastic.

Shenmue III

The Last of Us Part II

  • Release date: 2019
  • PS4 exclusive: Yes
  • Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment
  • View on Amazon UK

The latest trailer, which debuted last June, during E3 2018 was the first with actual gameplay footage. It shows the sequel to Naughty Dog's superlative horror game will not be for the faint-hearted. Be wary when watching the above, it's full of extreme violence. But it does its job well in making us want to play The Last of Us 2 even more - if that was indeed possible.

Darksiders Genesis

squirrel_widget_148923

Darksiders Genesis is an action adventure game with a top-down style where you'll be smashing your way through hordes of demons, angels, and everything in-between. This game also gives players the first look at the Darksiders world before the events of the original game and much more besides.

  • PS4 exclusive: No, also on Xbox One and PC
  • Publisher: Ubisoft
  • View on Amazon US - Amazon UK

With Assassin's Creed: Black Flag already under its belt, Ubisoft is no stranger to the world of pirates. That gives us more than an inkling that this is going to be one very well received game indeed. Skull & Bones is a multiplayer game which takes you to the seas - where you'll need to use co-operative play to sink your competitors' ships and get the best loot possible.

Beyond Good And Evil 2

  • PS4 exclusive: No, also on Xbox One and PC
  • Publisher: Ubisoft

squirrel_widget_148926

Announced during E3 in June 2017, Beyond Good and Evil 2 is long overdue, especially considering the first was released over 15 years ago. The game's other-world setting - where multiple species communicate and interact - is quirky, cheeky and stunning. Think The Fifth Element in video game form and you're halfway there.

Predator: Hunting Grounds

  • Release date: 2019
  • PS4 exclusive: Yes
  • Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment

Coming in 2020, the officially licensed game of the Predator movie franchise is an online multiplayer action shooter, where players are being stalked by the eponymous hunter.

Gods & Monsters

  • Release date: 25 February 2020
  • PS4 exclusive: No, also on Xbox and PC
  • Publisher: Ubisoft
  • See the official site

Ubisoft took some time at E3 2019 to show off its all-new IP: Gods & Monsters. This is a new game being lovingly crafted by the team behind the superb Assassin's Creed Odyssey. We don't know much about it at this point, but it certainly features some stunning aesthetics and a familiar vibe (can't help but make comparisons to The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild).

"From the creators of Assassin's Creed Odyssey comes a storybook adventure about a forgotten hero on a quest to save the Greek gods. Embark on a journey to the Isle of the Blessed, taken over by dangerous creatures of mythology. Prove your legendary heroism by taking on their leader, Typhon, the deadliest monster in all of mythology in a face-off for the age. Explore a beautiful fantasy world where tricky puzzles, mysterious dungeons and heroic feats await. The journey will be as challenging and rewarding as the final destination. Will you be the Hero of the legends foretold?"

Final Fantasy VII Remake

  • Release date: 3 March 2020
  • PS4 exclusive: Yes
  • Publisher: Square Enix

We've finally seen some more of the newest Final Fantasy at E3 2019. This new trailer shows off some of the game in its in-production phase and it's certainly looking magnificent. This is set to be a "reimagining of the iconic original" and a more in-depth exploration of the characters and surrounding worlds of the game.

"The world has fallen under the control of the Shinra Electric Power Company, a shadowy corporation controlling the planet's very life force as mako energy. In the sprawling city of Midgar, an anti-Shinra organization calling themselves Avalanche have stepped up their resistance. Cloud Strife, a former member of Shinra's elite SOLDIER unit now turned mercenary, lends his aid to the group, unaware of the epic consequences that await him. A spectacular reimagining of one of the most visionary games ever, the first game in this project will be set in the eclectic city of Midgar and presents a fully standalone gaming experience."

Watch Dogs: Legion

  • Release date: 6 March 2020
  • PS4 exclusive: No, also on Xbox and PC
  • Publisher: Ubisoft
  • See the official site

The next Watch Dogs outing has been revealed at E3 2019. It'll be set in London this time around and in the near future too. In a not-too-crazy fictional world, the entirety of the United Kingdom is under the grip of a totalitarian regime. It's your responsibility to build a resistance to stick it to the man and save the capital.

Plenty of new features in this game to keep things interesting - including the ability to recruit anyone you see in the world to join your team. Play with freedom too - in a world where you're free to do whatever you want, but there will be consequences.

Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines 2

  • Release date: March 2020
  • PS4 exclusive: No, also on Xbox One and PC
  • Publisher: Paradox Interactive
  • View on Amazon UK

It's only taken 15 years but a sequel to Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines has been announced. It seems to be a first-person RPG, like the original, but this time on consoles as well as PC. We can't wait.

Cyberpunk 2077

squirrel_widget_148928

Cyberpunk 2077 was by far and away the best game shown at E3 2018, it also wowed audiences at E3 2019. Sure it's got Keanu Reeves, but there's so much more fun and thrills shown off within the trailer.

The open world RPG is quite simply gorgeous, with no loading times and seamless transitions between huge areas as you travel the futuristic city. We can't wait to get our hands on this one.

Dying Light 2

  • Release date: Spring 2020
  • PS4 exclusive: No, also on Xbox One and PC
  • Publisher: Techland

squirrel_widget_148929

One of our favourite zombie games of the last decade returns with more first-person parkour fun and even scarier nighttime runs. One of the other new features is a dynamic game world that shifts and changes based on your choices during key missions. Your game, therefore, can end up being very different from another player's.

The new trailer from E3 2019 show various factions of humans fighting it out for supremacy, so there'll be more than just brain chompers to worry about. We can't wait to jump in with both feet.

Marvel's Avengers: A-Day

  • Release date: 15 May 2020
  • PS4 exclusive: No, also on Xbox One and PC
  • Publisher: Square Enix
  • See the official site

The celebration turns deadly when a catastrophic accident results in massive devastation. Blamed for the tragedy, the Avengers disband. Five years later, with all Super Heroes outlawed and the world in peril, the only hope is to reassemble Earth's Mightiest Heroes."

Developed by Crystal Dynamics (the team behind the Tomb Raider games) in collaboration with Eidos-MontrĆ©al, Nixxes Software, and Crystal Northwest, this new game is bound to be a well-crafted marvel.

Zombie Army 4: Dead War

  • Release date: 2020
  • PS4 exclusive: No, also on Xbox One and PC
  • Publisher: Rebellion
  • See the official site

"The year is 1946. Europe lies in ruins, torn apart by the nefarious "Plan Z." A brave band of heroes cast the FĆ¼hrer into hell but little do they know … Hitler's Hordes are back for more!

Face the darkness in single player or team up with friends as you blast your way through Nazi undead in this spine-chilling shooter from the makers of Sniper Elite 4."

Rainbow Six Quarantine

  • Release date: 2020
  • PS4 exclusive: No, also on Xbox One and PC
  • Publisher: Ubisoft
  • See the official site

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Quarantine is a new 3-player tactical co-op FPS coming in 2020. It appears to be a spin-off from the Rainbow Six Siege Outbreak mode that made an appearance in 2018. It's set in the near future where a mutated alien parasite is infecting human hosts and causing no end of problems. Players must team up to battle it out against the environment and survive unpredictable missions.

Outriders

  • Release date: 2020
  • PS4 exclusive: No, also on Xbox One and PC
  • Publisher: Square Enix External Studios
  • See the official site

Outriders is a brand-new co-op shooter created by the same team that worked on Gears of War Judgement and Bulletstorm. It's a drop-in-drop-out shooter with a dark and desperate sci-fi vibe. We don't have much to go on at the moment, but it certainly looks intriguing and a whole lot of fun to play with friends.

Destroy all Humans!

After 15 years, Destroy All Humans! is finally getting a reboot. Taking on the role of the evil alien Crypto-137 you'll set about annoying and annihilating puny humans with everything at your disposal. You'll be doing everything from reducing cities to rubble to using the Anal Probe gun to get up close and personal with your victims.

Away: The Survival Series

  • Release date: TBC
  • PS4 exclusive: No, also on PC
  • Publisher: Breaking Walls

Playing as a Sugar Glider flying mammal, you have to avoid predators and other dangerous beasts in order to survive in this third-person action adventure game.

Ghost of Tsushima

  • Release date: TBC
  • PS4 exclusive: Yes
  • Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment

When it was announced during Paris Games Week in 2017, Ghost of Tsushima took many by surprise. We found out more from this E3 gameplay reveal trailer. It is an all-new intellectual property being developed by the team behind the Infamous series, Sucker Punch, and looks stunning.

Death Stranding

How do you follow up the Metal Gear Solid series now you're no longer involved? By making the oddest, most disturbing survival horror game on the planet, that's how. Or, at least, that's what we think Hideo Kojima is up to. Even three full trailers in, we still can't make heads nor tails of the gameplay at the moment.

Starfield

  • Release date: TBC
  • PS4 exclusive: No, also on Xbox One and PC
  • Publisher: Bethesda

We know nothing about Starfield apart from the fact that it will be the first all-new IP from Bethesda Softworks for 25 years. Some are suggesting that it will be a sci-fi epic RPG: Skyrim in Space, basically.

The Elder Scrolls VI

  • Release date: TBC
  • PS4 exclusive: No, also on Xbox One and PC (probably)
  • Publisher: Bethesda

Never has a logo created so much excitement. The sequel to Skyrim might not even be for this generation of consoles, but we're still tingling with anticipation nonetheless.
