squirrel_widget_148916 The forthcoming Gears 5 was shown off a little more at E3 2019 including its 10 September release date. We've also learnt that alongside the single-player campaign and various multiplayer modes everyone the new game will feature a brand new mode known as Escape. squirrel_widget_148919 Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint is a much more military focused shooter than ever before. This game will see players fighting for survival through dense jungle and urban settings. A brilliant new injury system will also see you limping about when injured if you can't heal properly. With a massive horde of baddies to deal with, this should be a real blast. A new trailer from E3 2019 shows The Punisher's Jon Bernthal giving us some insight into the thrills that await. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
squirrel_widget_148920 COD is getting a fresh new outing and is going back to its roots. Infinity Ward is working on this Call of Duty game and is set to deliver "an epic reimagining of the iconic Modern Warfare series from the ground up". If the trailer is anything to go by, we're excited. This is the old school style of Call of Duty that we truly adored and we can't wait to see more. Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order
squirrel_widget_148921 Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order looks incredible. From what we know it's set to be a real blast as well. A brilliant single player focussed Star Wars game made by Respawn Entertainment that even has devs from KOTOR 2 working on it. Obviously, there will be plenty of lightsaber battles but there's also the promise of an "innovative lightsaber combat system" and a gameplay system that will see your lightsaber evolving as the game progresses. Sounds amazing right? Doom Eternal
squirrel_widget_148922 We're not too sure what to expect from the story of Doom Enteral apart from that it features "Hell on Earth". However, gameplay reveals have shown some crazy, fast-paced action - much like the last in the series. Where can we sign up? We've seen more of the game at E3 2019 and it certainly looks like there's going to be plenty of demon-slaying goodness and epic gunplay too. Wasteland 3
In Wasteland 3 you'll be playing a Desert Ranger, fighting for the sake of Arizona. As well as trying to survive the post-apocalyptic wilderness, you'll also need to build bases, train new recruits and explore your surroundings. You'll also have to deal with corruption, other factions that are battling it out, crazy cultists, cutthroat gangs and more. Wasteland 3 is also going to be a squad-based game so you can team up with your friends for some co-op action as well. Darksiders Genesis
squirrel_widget_148923 The much-loved action-RPG series is getting a new outing, this time though it's a first top-down action adventure in the franchise. A spin-off from the usual series antics, but with all the usual intense battles, exploration quests, puzzle-solving antics and epic boss battles you'd expect from a Darksiders game. Biomutant
squirrel_widget_148924 Biomutant is a new open-world action RPG coming later this year. Biomutant will allow players to combine mutant powers and a wealth of weaponry to customise their characters into the ultimate hero or villain. The fate of the world is in your hands. Desperados III
squirrel_widget_148925 Desperados III is set to be a thoroughly challenging real-time strategy game with a Wild West setting. All while keeping your gang of Desperados alive through battles with large gangs, ruthless bandits and corrupt lawmen. Beyond Good & Evil 2
squirrel_widget_148926 It's been more than 15 years since the original game, so this sequel has us excited more than most. We still haven't seen much of the gameplay yet, but the CGI effects are quite simply jaw-dropping. What's more, you can have some of your music or artwork included in the game. Find out more at hitrecord.org. Psychonauts 2
Double Fine studios were at E3 2019 showing off gameplay footage for Psychonauts 2, alongside the announcement that the company is joining Xbox Game Studios. Psychonauts 2 has been a long time coming, but will no doubt have fans of the series thoroughly excited. "Psychonauts 2 tells the story of Razputin Aquato, a gifted acrobat with psychic powers, as he fulfils his life-long goal of becoming an international psychic super-spy. In other words, a Psychonaut. Raz joins the Psychonauts at a dangerous time: a mole has infiltrated the organization and is planning to resurrect history's most cruelly powerful psychic villains. Not knowing who to trust, Raz must dive into the history of the Psychonauts, and that of his own family, to fight the demons of their shared past." Tunic! p>
Looking like a cross between the SNES Zelda games and Monument Valley, Tunic is a cute, isometric adventure game with exploration and puzzles at its heart. Very much an indie game to watch. Gears Pop!
Xbox teams with toy manufacturer Funko for a game featuring Gears of War characters in the style of the Pop! figures you can buy. This game is set to come sometime in summer 2019 and will also be on iOS and Android soon and you can pre-register your interest in it now. Battletoads
Rare is bringing back one of its much-loved 90s games in an all-new form. You might not remember Battletoads, but those in the audience at the Xbox E3 2018 media briefing sure did. Skull & Bones
If there's a game to starkly contrast the jovial pirates of the recently released Sea of Thieves then, well, Ubisoft has hit the nail on the head with Skull & Bones. This multiplayer battle game takes you to the seas where you'll need to play co-operatively with others to sink competitors' ships and abscond with the loot. Session
After a successful crowd-funding phase on Kickstarter, Session finally made its E3 bow at the 2018 Xbox media briefing and looks more like a spiritual successor to Skate 3 than we could have hoped. As it's a small indie developer, however, there might be a while to wait for it yet. Halo Infinite
Starting the Xbox E3 2018 media briefing with a bang, Halo Infinite confirmed that Master Chief is heading back to the Xbox One in the future. As for when or how, we have no idea at present. Watch the trailer though to send shivers up your spine in the meantime. Halo Infinite was shown off at E3 2019 but isn't set to make an appearance until late 2020. This new game follows on from the Halo 5: Guardians storyline with the promise of an ambitious and unexpected direction for the game. Plus there's a new graphics engine, powering the visuals as well. The new Halo is sure set to be a stunner. Destroy all Humans!
The cult classic, Destroy All Humans! is getting a faithful remake that's set to release at some point in 2020. Players will get the chance to take on the role of a weapon-wielding, superpower toting alien bent on causing mayhem in 1950s America. Rainbow Six Quarantine
There's a new threat coming to the world in the form of a mutated alien parasite that's infecting people and wreaking havoc on the planet. Your team is sent to save the day. This is a 3-player tactical co-op FPS where you'll be teaming up to battle it out against the environment and survive unpredictable missions. Ori and The Will of the Wisps
squirrel_widget_148927 We originally saw Ori and The Will of the Wisps teased in 2018, now we're seeing more of the game thanks to reveals at E3 2019. The visual style of the original Ori was simply gorgeous, a trait which is carried forward into the sequel, The Will of the Wisps. In fact, the 2D platformer is looking even better, if that is indeed possible. We cannot wait to play the 2D platformer sequel. Gods & Monsters
Ubisoft has unveiled its new IP in Gods & Monsters. We don't know much about it yet, though based on the trailer alone, it's hard not to draw comparisons to The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild. A hero is on a quest to save the gods while exploring a beautiful fantasy world where tricky puzzles, mysterious dungeons and heroic feats await. Watch Dogs: Legion
Watch Dogs: Legion has been revealed at E3 2019 and it looks pretty exciting. Not just because it's set in London, but because it's also packed full of new features. One highlight is going to be the ability to recruit anyone you see in the world to join your team. That includes everyone from MI6 agents to bareknuckle fighters, illegal street-racers or even inconspicuous old ladies. All the usual hacking, stealth and awesome gameplay is sure to keep things interesting. Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines 2
After a decade and a half, we're finally getting a sequel to Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines. Similarly a first-person RPG, it'll put you in the shoes of a bloodsucker ready to wreak havoc on mortals and the vampiric alike. We can't wait. Cyberpunk 2077
squirrel_widget_148928 We got to see around 50 minutes of the game played in front of us in a behind closed doors session at E3 2018 and 51 minutes later we could pick our jaws up off the floor. Now over a year later and we're still hyped. This is an open-world RPG from the maker of The Witcher 3 that is quite simply stunning. Our only question is whether it really will run on an Xbox One or if it'll have to wait until the Xbox Two turns up. We've got a release date now and the chance to pre-order as well, so exciting times ahead. Marvel's Avengers: A-Day
There's a new Marvel game coming. Set at a time when the Avengers have been disbanded as they're blamed for a deadly catastrophic accident that has resulted in massive devastation. Five years later, when the Earth is in serious trouble, it's the Avengers who are called upon to save the day. Microsoft Flight Simulator
The next update to Microsoft's Flight Simulator series is coming in 2020. Not only is Flight Simulator coming to Xbox One alongside the traditional PC versions, but it makes a jump to 4K and looks stunning. Flight Simulator promises players the freedom to create their own flight plan and jet off anywhere in the world, flying day and night against realistic weather conditions. It's set to arrive on PC first and console at a later date. Twelve Minutes
Twelve Minutes is an "interactive thriller" where your character is stuck in a time loop. A romantic evening with your wife is interrupted by a police detective rudely entering your home, accusing your wife of murder and then beating you to death. Things get interesting when time starts all over again and you're forced to suss out what's happening and how to stop it. Twelve Minutes should certainly make for an awesome gaming experience. Outriders
From the team behind Gears of War Judgement and Bulletstorm comes a brand new co-op shooter with a dark sci-fi vibe. We don't know much about the game at this point, but it certainly looks intriguing and a whole lot of fun to play with friends. Zombie Army 4: Dead War
The latest outing of the Zombie Army games series is coming in 2020. Expect more of the same awesome zombie-slaying fun with a new co-op playable campaign that takes play across Italy and beyond. Of course, the gruesome x-ray kill cam is making a return too. So you'll have plenty of fun watching Nazi zombie brains explode. Dying Light 2
squirrel_widget_148929 The first Dying Light offers an excellent blend of parkour, first-person combat and more than a touch of role-playing. We have even bigger hopes for the sequel, which looks to add a dynamic world to the mix. The characters and circumstances change depending on your actions - a potentially great concept. The next outing also seemingly promises a world that changes based on your choices, so you'll have much more influence on the world around you. The new trailer also appears to show various factions of humans fighting it out for supremacy, so there'll be more than just brain chompers to worry about. Minecraft Dungeons
Minecraft Dungeons is set to be a brand-new game set in the world of Minecraft coming sometime early 2020. It's a new action-adventure game inspired by classic dungeon crawlers. You'll be able to team up with your friends too in this outing - discovering new weapons and cutting down ruthless foes as you battle through canyons, swamps and mines. Certainly a thrill for Minecraft fans. The Outer Worlds
The Outer Worlds is a new single-player first-person sci-fi RPG from the original creators of Fallout and developers of Fallout: New Vegas. Players will be free to explore a local space colony and the furthest reaches of space in an adventure where their actions determine how the story unfolds. We're expecting a brilliant RPG with plenty of action too. CrossfireX
The hugely popular free-to-play first-person shooter franchise is coming to console for the first time next year, with CrossfireX being exclusive to the Xbox One. "CrossfireX delivers an intense first-person shooter experience where players are immersed in a sprawling global conflict between the world's two most formidable private military factions: Global Risk employs veterans of powerful armed forces who use advanced technologies to fight for order and security; Black List employs hardened mercenaries trained in guerilla tactics who fight to destabilize oppressive regimes in the name of freedom. Choose your side and complete objective-based missions across a variety of classic and innovative modes featuring tightly crafted gameplay and cinematic visuals." Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot
The Dragon Ball Z juggernaut thunders on with an all-new beat-em-up on the horizon. In Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, you'll be able to experience the full story of Dragon Ball Z including never-before-seen story moments that answer some burning questions of Dragon Ball lore for the first time! Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will also have you fighting across vast battlefields with incredible destructible environments. Of course, there'll also be epic boss battles and your combat abilities will certainly be put to the test. Starfield
squirrel_widget_148930 Touted as "Skyrim in Space", Starfield will be the first new intellectual property from Bethesda Softworks in many a year. We don't expect to see it until 2020 though. The Elder Scrolls VI
squirrel_widget_148931 Yep, it's just music and a logo, but doesn't it make the hairs on your arms stand on end like it does ours? Battletoads
Battletoads is making a comeback! Take control of the Battletoads on your own or with friends. Then use the toads to smash through unpredictable stages packed full of surprises. Teamwork and coop play will ensure the most fun with over-the-top combat and plenty of chortles. Battletoads 2 features a unique hand-animated cartoon style, memorable characters and awesome locations to battle through. Bleeding Edge
Bleeding Edge is the next game from Ninja Theory. We've been wondering what the company's first game would be under the Xbox Game Studios banner and now we know. It's an online 4v4 team multiplayer combat game with some crazy characters. A fast a frantic four vs four brawler that's colourful, packed full of character and utterly chaotic. We can't help but see an Overwatch vibe to this game, but it certainly looks like smashing fun. Elden Ring
Another cracking game reveal at E3 2019 was Elden Ring - a game co-written by Game of Thrones' George RR Martin and developed by FromSoftware. As if that wasn't enough, it's also set to be an action-RPG in the style of Dark Souls. If that's not enough to get your pulse racing, then what is? Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
It seems that a new Lego game is coming at some point soon. This new platformer isn't just a remaster of the previous Lego Star Wars games - it promises hundreds of different characters and different levels throughout. It's being pitched as a brand-new Lego video game unlike any other with fun-filled adventures and plenty of humour too. |
