Roku Smart Soundbar and Subwoofer let you have your sound and TV at the same time

[Roku][2] has entered into the Soundbar market with the launch of a new Smart Soundbar and accompanying subwoofer in the US.
The two new products, dubbed the Roku Smart Soundbar and Roku Wireless Subwoofer will cost $179.99, will be available in stores in October, and sees the company expand it's speaker offering first revealed in 2018.
But before you begin to question the move beyond smart tv sticks and TV operating system, the company says the "Smart" in the title refers to the fact that the [soundbar][3] will feature a built in chip allowing it to act in the same way as the company's streaming sticks already available.
The 32-inch wide 2.0 soundbar will come with four 2.5-inch speakers, 802.11ac dual-band wireless connectivity and the ability to stream 4K Ultra HD, HDR, 1080p and 720p HD streams up to 60fps.
According to the company there will also be advanced volume modes including the ability to uniform audio levels to stop loud commercials, a night mode so you don't disturb the kids or neighbours and speech clarity boosting so you can hear what people are saying.
Other features including Bluetooth, Google Assistant and Alexa support and the standard Roku remote to control it all with.
And for those that want more bass, they can opt for the Roku Wireless Subwoofer that offers a 10-inch driver to help amplify explosions and the such like.
[Roku TV Wireless Speakers][4] that are connected to Roku TV models will receive a software update in the coming months to add compatibility with the Roku Wireless Subwoofer the company claims. It's worth noting that the subwoofer won't work as a standalone device however.
There's no news as to when the new products will be available outside the US.
